Early years here.

Alan Harrison's career focused on the tourism sector industrially and in academe.  

His work included being:

  • a Lecturer in Gastronomy at Surrey Univer­sity here

  • Director of the Telford College Hotel School at Crewe Toll transferred to here.
  •  
  • an Open University Tutor/Examiner within the Post-Grad course in Educational Manage­ment now unavailable

  • Head of Faculty of Community Studies at Canterbury College updated here
  •  
  • Dean at Schiller University near Lucerne here  closed in 1995

  • Other foreign activities saw Alan as a tourism policy specialist and academic adviser in fifteen countries 

  • Retired in 2001 and now living near Oxford here, he is available as a speaker.

  • Taught myself the bagpipe in 1992 while working near Lucerne as Dean at Schiller University.
  •  
  •  Played the bagpipe once a week for a group of adults with severe learning difficulty.  Often using the bagpipe and wearing various uniforms.
